Welcome

The 2010-2011 year for Town and Gown was a special one in many ways. Labeled “The Year of the Woman,” all of the general meetings featured female speakers, discussing topics of great interest to modern women. For the first time a general meeting was held away from the University Park Campus with the delightful visit to the Huntington Library.

USC - Town & Gown
Under Elisabeth von KleinSmid’s enthusiastic leadership, Town and Gown raised the money for the Town and Gown Residence Hall, which opened in 1926 for 100 women students.
The Benefit honoring a very talented woman, Gayle Garner Roski, was very successful, netting a large amount of money for the Town and Gown Scholarship Program, and the year ended on a very high notes with a beautiful tea at the home of the Eleventh President of USC, Max Nikias and First Lady Niki Nikias.

Interest in joining Town and Gown soared with a remarkable list of new members. The relationship between the Annenberg Foundation and Town and Gown has grown and will continue to do so in the coming months. Quite a year for an organization which is officially over a hundred years old!

The talented Board of Directors and energetic President Judy Pohlmann are working diligently to make the 2011-2012 year another major success. The Important Dates section of the web site lists the dates of meetings and events already scheduled, and future updates will include details.

Town and Gown and its members and supporters look forward to a very happy and successful year!
